Database Recovery

Occasionally, between server startup and shutdown, the database locks up and enters a state of panic. You will know this has happened because the application will cease to funtion properly and there will be error messages in the logs saying "unable to get opened container", or "unable to open container." There will be also numerous UNEXPECTED_SYSTEM_ERROR messages in the logs. To fix this problem, shut down the server and run the script run-recovery.sh that is found in the scripts directory under your deploy directory.

Even if that exact error does not show up, recovery might be necessary. Any time the database appears to be locked up, recovery is the answer.
